    Default vacuum cleaner hose

I'm after some vacuum cleaner hose to extend my miniclycone for my triton router table.

Any idea's on where to get some?

I tried Godfreys in Knox today, but they wanted $40 for a std length of hose!

If your making it from the Triton bucket why not try Triton themselves.

Depends how long, the triton stuff is now some sort of smooth bore hose so would be good for a short run.

I scored a long (15 odd foot I'd reckon) vacuum extension hose at a garage sale a few years ago, I thought Godfreys would have sold that?

What about asking at an appliance repair joint?

Suggest you try some of the "ducted vacuum Cleaner' people. they supply long lengths to plug into the vacuum ports. have always found Aussie-Vac in FTG helpful.

I picked up all my vacuum cleaner extension hose from the hard rubbish collection. Plenty throw them out with their old, but working, vacuum cleaners.

I bought a vacuum cleaner from a garage sale for $3 for that very purpose. Unfortunately the damn thing works, so I can't bring myself to chop it up.

I'll give clark rubber and the ducted people a go...

I have been fortunate enough to get two from the council clean up days where people have just put them out with a vac

    Hi masher

When I put my cyclone together I bought some hose by the metre from a vacuum cleaner repair shop. The price were:
    25mm $6/m
    32mm $8/m
    35mm $9/m
    38mm $10/m
    50mm $12.55/m

That should give you a guide to know if they're ripping you off.

Previously bought all my dust extraction hose from Purple Pig, Mountain Hwy (Cnr Stud Rd) Bayswater 3153 (03) 9720 6055.
    They have quite a selection.

THanks for that Ken and Dave.

    I'll investigate further this week.

Paddy, Aussie-Vac is literally across the road from my place! They'll be getting a visit.

This is the stuff I use. Smaller tube is approx 32mm I/D and the bigger tube is approx 44mm I/D. The inside is nearly smooth not corrugated like normal hose. I get this stuff as offcuts from my real job of installing ADSL2+ systems into telephone exchanges. Unfortunately the lengths are only about a metre long but they are still useful. The tube is used to feed optical fibre pigtails into the rack from the fibre optic tray above the rack.

Looks good...and the length issue is easily fixed with duct tape!
