I know I know.
But you’ve got to give it some balance. The truth is there are always people who will defend Triton and there are others who will knock it. So can’t we just let it be that way?
But you never know, “All thumbs” might really hate the damn thing in a few months time. We are here to prevent it from happening.
Beside, doesn’t it bring us closer together each time? You will buy me a beer next time OK.
Kiss kiss.

Wongo: Hi guys. I love my Supersaw. Does anyone know how to turn it on?
AntiJetMan: That thing is a piece of crap, I had one but threw it away. It never cuts straight and it leaves tooth marks all over my nice fiddleback maple.
Wongo: But I only wanted to know how to turn it on.
See, now Wongo is unhappy because not only can he still not turn it on, but AntiJetMan has made him think he is an idiot for buying it in the first place. AntiJetMan pops up and says something like this every time poor Wongo asks a question about his Jet SuperSaw. One day, Wongo thinks "I wont ask about my SuperSaw any more". He sells his Supersaw and all his tools and takes up golf instead."I don't practice what I preach because I'm not the kind of person I'm preaching to."

…… so Wongo joins the Golf forum and posts a question.
Wongo: hi guys, I am thinking of taking up golf. What do you think?
AntiGolfMan pops up and says: Nah, golf is a waste of time.
AntiGolfMan is right. Wongo goes away happy and $1600 richer.

Who needs a flightless chook?
Hey I'm a happy Triton owner.
I've got a router & table and saw and W/C and a few other bits and pieces and your right Silent. I'm happy with what I have and what it does for my level of ability. I don't need some naysayer drip his vitriolic crap, I just want the advice for the problem I encountered or some funny story. Each alternative is good.
Hey Stuart - great web site - let me know when you kick your dependancy______________

So if anyone's ever reading this and wondering what the answer to the original question is ... it's about 550mm with a 184mm saw.
i.e. You can't fit a 600mm wide sheet between the end plate and the blade.

Triton Gear
All Thumbs.....Enjoy the Triton Gear...I have use it for so many projects and have been very happy with the Extention Table. I am in the middle of a major Kitchen Reno and have saved thousands (and I mean thousands) of dollars using the Triton. Here are a few photos so far

Alas, alack.
Has anyone noticed that the only real answer to the original question was posted by the same bloke who asked the question in the first place? What a sad, sad comment on certain participants of this thread, turning it into yet another boring debate on the Triton's worth rather than simply taking a measurement & posting the result...
[sigh]
