To answer the P.S. first, yes, the Series 2000 router table will fit onto the Mk 3 Workcentre (see here for confirmation), so that's one element of the decision out of the way.

However, I'd sooner have a dedicated biscuit jointer than the Triton accessory (I've used both), as the accessory is very limited in its application and not - in my opinion - worthwhile.

The dust collection can be done in any number of ways and the Triton saw is definitely far superior for the Workcentre than the Makita offered.

I'd go for option 2) but others may have a differing POV.

Hi ray, thanks for the info regarding the router table.

You mentioned the Triton biscuit jointer's a bit limited... will it be alright doing fairly regular 3/4" MDF cabinets? eg. something like the pic below.

Yes, you can do the boxes in your pic because you are only operating on edges, and that's the main limitation of the Triton- you can't operate on a face - i.e put in mid -shelving etc.

Plus, there is a set up time and you are restricted to using theTriton biscuits.
You are better off with a dedicated hand held biscuit jointer.

Just wondering about the workcentres themselves now - what differences are there between the WCA201 and the Mk3? Would I benefit much from the latest model?

I'll have to correct this line, Ian. The standard #20 biscuits can be used with the Biscuit Jointer accessory (see ⅓ down this page for the procedure). However, a dedicated biscuit jointer is the way to go, as I hope I've covered in this page I wrote a while back.

The 2000 Workcentre is a much better unit and apart from the saw mounting chassis being loads better, there are other design features - notably the height-winder accessory - that will not fit onto the Mk. 3. Also, IMO, the switch gear is better and the fence and guard also. HTH

Question: Is this router table kosher? That's all it comes with in the pics; so is that all I need for it to work with my Ryobi ERT241200?

For reference, that was a Mk. 3 table top with just the clamp mounting. It could well have been OK, but you'd have to build or obtain a fence.

The current 2000 series table looks like this (although in the pic, it's fitted to a stand, not a Workcentre, you'll get the idea).
