    Smile Wheels for trucks

The latest Triton Times has a plan for a toy truck with the legend "wheels etc...available from your local harware" ...I don't think so. A quick whip around my local hardwares was not productive ! I have found that one of the only places I can get the wheels is Carba-Tec(WA) in Balcatta near Perth. Luckily they do a mail order service, so the truck will be a goer.

    Default Wheel making bit

Carb-i-tool sell a wheel cutting bit for a drill press.

If you are doing a truck, you will need anywhere between 4 and 22 wheels....for the first one.

If it is a good truck, you may end up making a few, or different trailers etc.

Don't know about prices. The one I have cuts 60 mm wheels. I think they have more than one size though.

If you are about to start making toys for Christmas, could save you a bit of money in the long run.

HobbyCo in Sydney sell plastic truck wheels of many sizes & have a web site & do mail/Internet ordering. I don't know where the major model/hobby shops are in W.A. or how good their stock is.

Lee Valley (definately) & Rockler( I think) sell nice wooden wagon & truck wheels - again, check the web site.

Good point- we bought one of each size for the club's library- they are quite popular, and definitely do the job!
