    Default Alanware Plane

I think a regular from this forum has an Alanware plane on ebay at the moment - is that you SG?

You asked for more info. You might have seen this, but I guessed Alanware were probably not primarly tool makers, more likely aluminium manufacturers of domestic objects. Found this:

Electric Kettle - 'Alanware', Chesters Trading Company, Melbourne, circa 1946 - Museum Victoria

    Seems pretty likely to me.

    Regards,

    Tim

    Not one of mine Tim.
Definitely an Australian made handplane with aluminium handle and body.
Someone from the HTPAA might have some more information on this company. Perhaps a PM to Peter McBride (Lightwood) would bring some answers.
    Cheers

Default Sorry to have implicated you :-)

SG, sorry to have implicated you in the sale of the Alanware plane

I must have had a rush of soemthing to the head. Interesting plane though. The HTPAA doesn't have much on their site. I hadn't heard of them before, and the seller says he hasn't seen one previosly.

    Regards,

    Tim
