Auriou - rasp maker since 1856 closes
In view of Richard Vaughans strong endorsement of these handmade (left or right hand optional) rasps at the WWT show the attached is unfortunate.

For those with deep wallets I presume the Australian agent (unknown) may still have stock.

G'day,
I just read the reason for the closure by Michel Auriou, I knew that French labor laws were really bad towards the employers and that as a nation they are very lazy in regards to holidays and hours they work, but "under current French employment law, will get paid for the next 23 months".
I'd hate to be a boss in France.
That aside it's a shame when great hand tools fade into history for whatever reason. There are none of Auriou's files or rasps on eBay yet, but they will I'd think when people learn that they've closed down.
