Australian Stanley planes
I bought an Australian Stanley number 4 today, bit rusty but cleaned up OK. I don't hink it ever had much use. I'm interested in its age. Like my 2 Turner 4's it has a die cast frog, but no adjuster. I has black plastic handles held in by steel screws, not bolt and brass nuts. The blade is stamped Stanley Australia. And the depth adjuster is not brass. I know Turner ceased to trade in November 1970 (thanks to the HTPAA site).
Did they have a cheaper "Handyman" range, which is what I have bought?
Thanks for any thoughts on this.
