Default A few bargains on the weekend

I know its a little late but last weekend i got a few good tools and things for next to nothing.

I got a box of tools a an auction that had a 12" Yankee screw driver with four bits, two berg socket chisels, both short, one still got life and one really short, a titan 5/8 firmer and a marples 1". All for $5!! Two disston hand saws, They are newer ones with wooden handles but sharp and ready to use. Got them for $2, bargain. And a twenty metre tape for $2 as well.

Then I went to a granite place near where I work. I asked the fellow if I could buy an off cut to use as a lapping plate. He thought about it for a few seconds and said "follow me". He led me through the workshop and out the back into the carpark for the row of shops he was in and sitting in the grass was a 20mm thick sink cut out that's about 900x450. He said "you can have that", I asked how much he wanted for it and he said its been sitting here for ages you can just have it. Needless to say I was wrapped.

So all in all a good weekend for tools and things. My missus didn't get it. I don't know why...

Yes that's the one. They have great things sometimes... Sometimes when you look through the rubbish piled up on the tables that is. They had a festool grinder there a couple of weeks ago, but I was poor that week so I didn't go to bid on it.

Not yet Muss. It's on my list of things to do but the kids have sport on Sunday mornings. I check it out from time to time. Maybe later this year.
