    The promised update:

Yes well um seems you forgot to come back and finish one orf I had to remove it from the chuck & lathe to do a special job. No worries when your ready Jet is available at times.

but anyway ... seen these Pacman??? http://www.supertool.com/forsale/oct/t128.jpg

    Default My berg family

    Hi Pac man,
I mentioned earlier that I would post pictures of my Berg collection.
I have all sizes of tang up to 1". Don't quite know how but ended up with three 1/8" tang chisels.
The 2" I got in a job lot of stuff, no handle, but picked up that large handle later. Not together yet but a little bit of work
    will see it right.
The sockets are a slightly different story. No 1/8ths or 7/8ths. There's a 2" and a couple of larger ones.
I picked up a few "beaver" handles for those without.
Haven't yet figured out if I prefer tangs to sockets. Plenty of time.
There is a couple of pictures of a knife, fork and steel set that I picked up recently from germany. It had been on ebay for a long time so I put in an offer and got it for around $70 delivered. The box needs some minor repairs. I haven't used it yet but I think it's a beautiful set. All pieces are marked as Berg. It also looks as though it has never been used, but I will.
I forgot to take pictures of my red handled Bergs and Bahcos. I remember buying two Bahco chisels when I was a bout 22 from my local hardware store which I still have. But I have a good set of red handles.
I bought all of these off e-bay and paid very reasonable prices for all of them. I gave up if the price got too high.
The Three sockets in the front are Jernbolaget. The shiny one with the handle made from silky oak is the first one I bought and really the catalyst for this little Berg adventure.
You can also see a couple of Berg firmer chisels in front of the tangs.
I've seen pristine sets for large amounts of money and I saw a 2" BERG GO FOR $350U.S. a couple of years ago which is pretty high.
But a pristine set for around $1000 when you compare it to some of the new chisels i.e. Lie Nielsen, Blue Spruce etc starts to look a lot better. Anyway I'm very happy with mine.

    Cheers

    Frank

    Thanks for the photo's.

Especially for the picture of the firmers. I saw a firmer at a market today. Good to know what the original handles look like.

Did I sell you a couple of those? If so, I'm glad they got to join the family reunion!

I was lucky to buy a toolchest with lot of berg chisels and gouges.
The rest was harder to find, fleemarkets mostly,

    cheers,
