Hi Will,
The last time I did this, there was no drop off point up in Townsville. There just wasn't the numbers to get the free shipping. There is an option for me to ask the preferred supplier (yet to be decided until I go thru the process of getting quotes) if they will ship to you if you pay for the shipping costs. Weather they will do this is based on a case by case basis and nothing is guaranteed - but I can try when the time comes.
Ta,
M.

I think i'm the only 1 in Tasmania whos put his hand up as well so that will put me in the same boat. When they arrive in Aus would it be possible to have my order packaged & shipped out using Aust post or a local courier?

The time has come for guestimate numbers!!!
Hi All,
Well there appears to be a good lot of interest in this again so it's time to move onto the next step. For those of you who haven't done this before the basic steps I follow are as follows:
- Get Interest to see if there might be enough volume (DONE)
- Get basic numbers of clamps - no obligation
- Get quotes from suppliers based on rough numbers
- Post best quote to this thread
- Collect CONCRETE numbers from each member
- I forward numbers onto the preferred supplier and you sort out payment with the supplier directly - I don't want to be involved in the cash side of this.
- Organise drop off points when all orders are in and paid for
- Clamps get shipped
- Lucky people visit the drop off points in their area and get clamps
So we are now at the next step. I require from you the following:
1) Number and types of clamps
2) Drop off point
As for price we usually get a good discount off the retail price, especially for the k-body clamps since they are the ones with the biggest volume. If you have a look at the last great Bessey clamp order that I did in 2007 you will get an idea of the percentage discount. Since I don't have firm prices for these yet you are not committing yourself to order; that being said think realistically about what you want and what you can afford based on a rough guestimate of price discount using your judgement and past bulk clamp orders as a guide.
Please post the numbers and drop off point to this thread (please don't PM me as it will nuke my PM box!)
Ciao,
M.

Again this depends on the supplier; I can ask them when the time comes and see what I can get sorted out. From memory last time we did have a drop off point in Tassy so there might be hope yet. Another point is that the drop off point is decided on number/value of clamps and _not_ on number of orders so if you order a bucket load of clamps then there will be a drop off point
Hope this helps,
Ciao,
M.
