And I thought we were going for the 50k posts on one thread.

BTW - what is the record?

Maybe keep it going with evidence of use of these excellent little woodies helpers. I'll start, with the first of my kid's bed project (more to come)...

Default Bessey K-Body Clamps for beginners

    I would appreciate some advice.

What do forum members recommend would be the optimum or minimum number & sizes of Bessey K-Body Clamps, a beginner would need (who doesn’t have any clamps at all), to start making both large & small furniture items.

    <O

If the Forum’s Bessey Bulk Buying Scheme eventuates, my initial “thoughts or guess” about a possible order were:

    4 * 150cm K-Body Clamps

    4 * 100cm K-Body Clamps

    4 * 60cm K-Body Clamps

    4 * 30cm TG Series Clamps

    2 * KP Block Packs (4)

    What does the forum think?

    Regards Brenton

That seems like a very luxurious starting set.

You might want to think about some kind of framing clamp if you ever want to do mitres, e.g. a couple of band clamps:

    or the veritas framing system:

    .

The set of 10 4" F clamps from LV are also very handy and excellent value at about $39.50 for the set:

Those are my principles, and if you don't like them . . . well, I have others.

My advice is simple. First of all consider what you need and secondly ask yourself whether you can afford it. I bought two with the last order and certainly appreciate their superior quality over other clamps I have used.

    Default INITIAL indicative pricing

    Hi Peoples,

So far, we have intent to orders for 120 assorted clamps - mainly K-bodies, but some thers as well. This is somewhat less than the 350 or so we all ordered from 'LV05', but 20 is still a sizeable lot.

I have some INDICATIVE pricing based on just 120 clamps. We expect better prices providing we can get more clamps ordered. These prices EXCLUDE freight (to either collection point or your front door).

    K60 $46
    K100 $63
    K125 $66
    K150 $76
    KP Block Set $32

If we use the 2 x K60, 2 x K100, 1 x KP example from LV05 to Brisbane that Darryl posted which was AUD220.00 to the person's front door, we are looking at AUD250.00 at present for the same (EXCLUDING freight).

We don't have discounted pricing on the other Bessey lines, as yet, for when we ask the importer, "How much?", they say, "How many?". For the moment, we are ASSUMING that a similar discount to that which results in the above pricing will apply to the other Bessey items, but as yet, we can't confirm this.

I suppose the point of this post is to give people an idea of what they will be saving and also to entice others to consider ording some clamps so that we can get even lower pricing.

    CamelOK,

You can access the order form via this link

    http://www.northwoodtools.com.au/besseybulkorder.htm

Don't forget, to save money on freight, have it delivered to the Canberra Distribution Point (Garran).

To get a little more information about this 'deal' read the thread
