I am wondering if Rocker has weakened yet?
Also if most people buy 2 sets, as it appears, we already have our 30 sets we started out to get.
Many thanks to Darryl for his extra effort in this endeavour.
Thanks and congratulations also to Rob Lee and the Lee Valley team, their willingness to help us only reinforces my opinion of them.
Now I really should order mine now, still having trouble making up my mind, 2 X B or one of each?Boring signature time again!

I'm probably just teasing myself, so forgive me if I'm wasting time...just wanted to check a couple of things:
Price of 2 x B sets would be AUD$253 approx plus yet to be determined freight? And most importantly; I can order now and have a month or so to get my story straight and find the money before I'm billed?
These clamps look too damn tasty to pass up. Not to mention the infectious enthusiasm of the board. Don't all suggest taking up smoking or anything, will you?
Regards,
Rus.

Your numbers are a little out US$119 per 'B' set. At a 75c exchange rate, that's A$158 per set. International freight will be under US$20 each. So that's A$184. Add something like $5 for customs clearance & paperwork, and about 15% for GST & duty. Final total A$217.35 per 'B' set. Plus any delivery costs from Sydney to you.
Nett cost delivered will be something under $60 or so per clamp, compared to between $80 and $125 each retail here, depending on size & where you buy them.
And no, you will not be billed until a few days before the goos actually ship, which will be around mid March.
Local Freight
I still don't have accurate numbers, but it should be in the range of $20 to $35 or $40 depending on size and destination. Combining multiple orders to each capital city should save money as well.
I'll have accruate local freight costs by Thursday. The Australian Woodworkers Database - over 3,500 Aussie Woods listed: http://www.aussiewoods.info/

Whoopsie! Glad I checked- I converted US price using Canadian conversion rate, what a doofus...
Still, with extra good behaviour,...might be doable! Thanks for straightening me out (insert heavy sigh here).

Be careful with the exchange rate. The one you see in the paper/on the news is the wholesale exchange. Unless you are going to get up around a transaction valued at about AUD50,000, you will get an exchange rate some 3-4 cents lower.

<Woof Woof>..move over dog.
Hey the deed is done, I've arranged for WA to get at least 1 B set of clamps!
Thanks to ALL involved in getting this going, it shows just what can be done with a bit of committment and co-operation. Well done all.
Regards

To quote Linelefty's immortal words "I hate to be a party pooper", but ........ I think Darryl might be a bit optimistic about the amount of duty and GST payable on this deal. I recently ordered US$350 worth of software from the US. Shipping was US$35, giving a total of US$385. Yesterday I got a call from Customs; duty plus GST payable was AUD 120.50, about 24%.
Rocker
I don't think I need any more clamps, and the men in white coats have not appeared yet

Go on, Rocker, just one wont hurt, you know it wont. You can stop again straight after this one. Go on, we wont tell.

DanP,
My cravings for K-body clamps were satisfied some years ago. I admit I was once a slave to the rush you get when you can easily clamp a cabinet dead square; but now I have progressed to more esoteric addictions, like CAD programs. I doubt if I shall ever fully master TurboCAD Pro, but I can have a good deal of fun trying to.
