    Pity the poor poms. List price for a Bessey K60 is $AUS96.00

    K150 - $70.88
    frame set - $30.91
    + $5 admin + freight

    If you look around, the current US prices (leevalley, woodcraft) seem to be, for 4+:
    K60 - US$32.40 (==A$36.80)
    K100 - US$39.40 (==A$44.77)
    K125 - US$43.20 (==A$49.10)
    K150 - US$49.50 (==A$56.25)
    with the peso around 0.88.

    Now those are retail prices and include their margins. Of course there's shipping to Oz, handling, GST perhaps since it's one order, bla bla bla. But you can see that the last-time price of $42 for a K60 is darned good compared to the above $36.80!

    Northwood's online prices, the best I could find excluding CT Sydney's recent sale (mmm - 4xK60 + 2xK125 ) are:

    K60 - $65
    K100 - $93
    K125 - $103
    K150 - $115

    Martin,

    Do you have a supplier in mind already? The order in 2005 was shipped from Lee Valley and distributed locally. It would be good to give Rob Lee a chance to quote on this one again after the way he handled the last order in 2005.

    Also when we ordered from Lee Valley we took the opportunity to order other items to save on shipping. For example I bought a side and end vise (very heavy) for the bench I still haven't built.

    I bought a set of 2 K60's and a set of 2 K100's and a framing set and would be interested in same again and possibly some K150's.

    There have been two Great Bessey Clamp orders with the delivery of the last order spreading across 2005/2006 as the Australian distributor used available stock to part supply and had to wait for remainder of stock to arrive to supply other orders.

    The first order was from Lee Valley cashing in on the special anniversary pricing they had at the time.

    Northwood Tools in Queensland was the supplier the second time around. The prices I provided back on page 1 were from Northwood Tools for the second order. The freight charges were from Queensland and some larger orders were shipped directly from the Australian distributor and from memory did not incur a freight charge at all.

    Kev's right, the best method for shipping was to avoid Northwood as a delivery point for interstate locations.

    People stuck their hands up as delivery points for Sydney, Canberra, Mexico City etc.

    I must have slept through the last one.

    How big does an order have to be to be sent direct? I'd be happy to distribute for the mid north coast. Port, Kempsey, Coffs etc.

    I'd be happy to be the drop point for Hobart (and the rest of Tassie for that matter) if there is sufficient bulk for a direct delivery here. I have the space and the time.

    Would be great if it were possible to order from Lee Valley and could also order other items too. I throw my whole support behind that idea and offer to help out in organising it too.
