Default Birthday treats - (tool gloat)

Well I woke up saturday morning... to be handed my birthday present by my wife... a Starrett combination square!! woohoo!! Quality tools feel so good in the hand. She's a great wife.

On top of that sunday morning I ducked down to the markets to buy myself a birthday treat if there was anything worthwhile... the record 043 small plough plane was a pleasant surprise! $40... and with two of its three cutters.

And then as I was leaving I thought I might just wander up one more aisle of stalls.. and over in the distance amongst alot of bric-a-brac i spotted a Titan decal.... oohh a nice 1/2" bevelled Titan with sticker.... whats this one next to it? another titan! 3/4" bevelled... and this wide one? a 1 inch bevelled! and to round out the set a 1/4" bevelled. $5 each for the two small sizes and $6 each for the two large sizes. total $22. happy days!

I would take photo's but i've removed the handles of two of the chisels to send away as examples for some new handles i'm getting turned (thank you funky chicken).

cant wait until next years birthday!!

    tom

yes there is nothing quite like a market bargain.

although somtimes you can even get lucky on epay... i stumbled across someone who had listed a "stanley plain 4.5"... i usually search for "plane"... hehe..my $12 bid was the only one.

so its been a good monday too!
