    Default Two centenary matching planes

    Hi,
I got these tongue and groove planes some years ago from ebay and now I decided to restoring them. I like to use tools I have, so I tried to put these old ladies again at work.

They look very useful, Guiliano and the end result is very neat.

    Great job
    Matt
...I'll just make the other bits smaller.

    Hi Giuliano

Interesting plane design. They are built with a top-side throat (ala Krenov), rather than using side clearance.

Among modern plane makers, this method is used only by Timewarp Toolworks ..

Here is the traditional method ...

The laminated version looks easier to build.

    Regards from Perth

I'd never heard of Time Warp Toolworks. The planes look great, but that is possibly the worst logo I have ever seen.

    Hi Derek,
This design was quite common in Austrian and German older exemplars:
    Kleines Werkzeugmuseum (Nuthobel)

Regarding Timewarp Toolwork planes, it's a good idea for tempting a self-building.
