I was fine navigating in the West but if I went further East than Boronia the next stop was 'lost'.
Don't care what anybody says, if it's over the Dandenongs it's not Melbourne.
We don't know how lucky we are......

I've got the Stanley Fatmax. They all needed honing before they were anywhere near sharp enough for use but on the plus side have good handles for grip and the tang goes right through so you wont have issues with handles splitting.
Bunnies and Mitre 10 sometimes have sets of 5 on sale.

The one thing I remember from woodworking from school is that it beats patience into you...
But that's not happened yet, so I went ahead and bought a bunch of 4 old Titan chisels off eBay, and a 6mm "Major" Sheffield brand. Cost me $35 including postage.
All are firmer chisels, I couldn't find any bevel-edge chisels of suitable vintage.
They look straight, and detailed photos don't show any pitting. I would like to replace the handle on one though, which might be an interesting project.
Does anyone know anything about "major" brand? Assuming all are in good nick, is this a good buy?

As soon as you've got a set together you'll find more chisels turning up everywhere you look. I think it's one of the rules.
Cheers,
Jim
