Very interesting - not as good as Jake's stuff but some helpful points.
One thing that I find helps with all of my Combo planes is to affix a dowel vertically at the front of the plane. This helps me keep the plane vertical, which really helps a lot because it means that it doesn't bind in the grooves as you make them.Cheers
