NC,
Yes it is a clone of a Stanley No 4.
I think I will have to modify the chipbreaker to get it to function properly. There are heaps of faults with this plane. It is now an excersie to getting it to a useable state after all the work in flattening the sole.

One day in my travels up to see the old man in Kempsey I'll drop in. He's getting to the point he won't be able to drive down anymore.

Righteeo - found one.
And it's not perfect, some rust scale on unimportant bits, but otherwise quite OK in the areas that count. PM me with your addess and I'll get it off to you.
Cheers

Yep - out and about.
Hastings Woodies have had a fairly hectic schedule over the last few weeks with more to come.
Family, the Shed, The BLOG, the garden, the chooks, the movies (just saw Safe House - excellent), Ukulele Group, babysitting, HWWG safety audit, Tele Point Newsletter, .......... when did I find time to go to work?
BTW Australian Woodworker are going to run an article on our HWWG some time soon-ish - maybe June-ish .... writ by yours truly.
Gotta run - Jelly Cabinet beckons .....
