That is indeed one of the most beautiful collections I've ever seen. I have all the chisels I need but I can find room for a 1 1/2in bevel edge.
    Cheers, Bill

Umm...I'm not prepared to cross my eyes and dot my "Ts" trying to count them up: Particularly with the smaller tools . I went with the figure the manufacturer gave me when I started to count them up in the flesh to give him my estimate of value sitting there.

A little controversy just adds to the interest in my view .

The list price for the chisels are here:
Harold & Saxon – Chisel & Tool Co. Australia
It would be a well earned commission!

Thank-you Paul, for bringing this amazing view of another fine collection of quality made tools out of Trent's workshop.
I empathise with Trent's ongoing plight, and the ensuing hardship he has had to endure not only with his predicament, but the fact that he is a dedicated fine tool maker who produces a product that is second to none and must be envied by all in the Woodworking community worldwide.
I do have an order in place with him and am naturally prepared to give him space and time because his health is not only important to him but to all of us that appreciate such a fine product as he alway's produces and which is self evident by the pics which has been posted here and to those of us that are lucky enough to have some of his tools.

    Cheers

That is a most refreshing take from you and one that I think will give Trent the strength he needs. Thank you.

This particular order pre-dated the one to which you are alluding (and to which I am not a party, although I now wish I was). It is indicative of Trent's sense of commitment that he is trying desperately to honour his obligations whilst still retaining the quality for which he has become famous.

    Thanks for posting that Paul,

Such beautiful work is something to aspire to. I couldn't help thinking of the Studley tool chest while looking at that cabinet. That's not a fair comparison however since H.O.Studley didn't make the tools as well...

    Absolutely stunning.

I want one. But the reality is that I would never use them - it would only be to drool over!

Thank you Paul ,I know that I am only expressing what I am sure most folk in their hearts would be saying. We only wish for Trent to make his way in his own time with his health & his commotments.

I reckon those pics you have posted would make a real great screen saver!

    Default Chisel set anybody?

    Paul,

This is awesome stuff to behold. I am interested in knowing a bit more about what chisels one has when there are 53.

I can see paring and firmer in the picture. Would you be able to tell us a little more of the story?

    Thanks

    Steve

I just knew somebody would put me on the spot eventually so it might as well be you . Trent designed the case so that the most used chisels were at the top with the least used towards the bottom.

On the underside of the lid are the long blade paring chisels with the standard paring chisels sitting in the top tray. Pic 7 has the firmer chisels in the first drawer and in the second drawer (pic 8) there are the truly beautiful set of mortice chisels with four corner chisels at the back.

The mortice chisels are massive in their construction but entirely in proportion. I'm just overawed by them.

Now the bottom drawer (pic 9) is interesting. The fish head chisels at the back are for cleaning out the bottom of deep mortices, but those at the front I'm not sure and I didn't take a good enough pic to see the tip of the blade. However I am reasonable certain that they are four pairs of skew chisels as they do seem to be two each of the same size and that would fit in with a left and right skew.

The corner chisels are a one-off for this set as they are not part of Trent's usual range.

    I hope that helps.

    Regards
    Paul
