    Question nx60 not flat!

So here is the update... I just got off the phone with "The Vice President of the Manufacturing division, Steve Oszmian" and he was a very, very nice guy. He is looking into how this could have happened to my nx60 right now. After listening to how they manufacture and assemble the nx60 i don;t understand how it could have gotten so unflat. To be particular the problem on mine seems to be mainly around the last 3/8ths of the heel. They are currently checking all of their nx60's in all their stores to make sure this is a one-off. I'll keep yah posted......i'm no engineer but my guess is something to do with stress relieving and temp....nik

hey all; just got my NX60 to the shop yesterday and finished honing the blade and cap. Very nice. Let's give it a final honing of the sole..ohoh...what is this the sole isn't flat. It's about a 16th/32nd concave from toe to heel. Is this "as designed" ? I don't think it would be as every other plane i have id dead flat. So back to Lee Valley store today for exchange...nice people at Lee Valley...i asked them to check the sole of the replacement NX60 on one of their straight edges. OhOh this is also concaved from toe to heel around a 32nd. The guy in the store wasn't sure about this at all. So i went home with my initial NX60 body.

Now what do i do? Can someone check theirs and see if it's flat toe to heel. Or am i making a very embarrassing mistake?

    thanks

    nik
