Circa 1950's smoothing plane made in Japan.
Came across this roughy. I don't know whether the Falcon/Pope iron or backing plate are original. Owner says his father purchased it around late 40's early 50's. It has 'japan' stamped on side of base. The timber handle is poorly finished but appears to be original.
Has anyone come across a similar tool? 20190913_102130.jpg Cheers Evado.
