Cleaning a sticky HNT Gordon plane
I have a HNT Gordon try plane that I bought at a show several years ago. It has been lying on a shelf under my bench for a while now.
I went to use it and find that al the faces are sticky and collecting dust.
What would be an appropriate fluid to use to clean it up?
I thought that boiled linseed oil may be the right stuff to use after cleaning.

Start with something gentle like paint thinner, or kerosene. I use paste wax after cleaning.
