Clover leaf chisel - what is it
Came across a massive firmer chisel in a second hand store the other day - didn't buy it as it was $35 but it got my interest. Looked to be about 1 3/4 inch and real heavy. The stamp on it was well worn but I could make out a clover leaf. The way it was positioned there may have been another as well with something stamped inbetween the two? Anyone know what brand used the clover leaf symbol?

More precisely, Marples Sheffield. Have a couple of the big fellas myself and love them, also a very nice bull nose plane with original box - once my Grandad's, now proudly owned by me.

Sounds like the Marples Shamrock line.
I have an M4 Shamrock smoothing plane, a good deal heavier than the Stanley No 4. A joy to use.
