Was looking through the Popular Woodworking website and noticed that there is a new Knew Concepts fretsaw. It took me back to bridge design at uni. Bit expensive at $225!

    Hi Jim

$225 is the titanium model. The aluminium model is $95.

I've not seen these in real life but have discussed them pre-production with Lee Marshall, the designer (actually co-designer). The price of titanium forced a rethink in design as they could not waste 2/3 of a sheet cutting out a frame in one piece. The idea was to use strips and build it like the Eiffel Tower. The triangulation that followed proved to be extremely rigid and an advanced on the one-sheet design. I think that this is only for the titanium model, not the aluminium, which cost so much less to make.

Maybe one of these would be worth while getting at the same time.

...I'll just make the other bits smaller.

Well Peter, they seem to have dropped the idea that the colour red helps you concentrate.
