Another red herring reason out of the way........the 110 is the only with it's original box.
Interesting thing about this box is that it states made in Australia. But the plane casting and blade are made in England. Is this normal ?

Not what I was thinking though

Still could be the right tool (neither confirming or denying this ).
One red herring out of the way.
    Stu,
Soooo, I might be onto something here.....Is it the 12 1/2 because it is the only one with a wooden base???
    Regards,
    Peter

The 12 1/2 is the only scraper? blade with a hook? adjustable pitch? wooden soled plane?

    I'm trying the scattergun approach

Luban are you up to your second glass of wine already?

Is it the Record shoulder plane as the only non-US made tool?

    Fraid not Tom...

    The 5, 10, 71, 110 and 130 are also English made.

The 041 is the only Record brand tool there, but it's not what I was thinking.
The answer is far more superficial than that.

    Hint 2 : What's in a name....?

*sips some more of his home brew*

Wow...that's deep Caliban. I wish I'd thought of that. There is indeed only one sweethart tool (the 12 1/2), but I've already counted that one out.

I almost gave it to you for that

But no, to be fair, that's not what I was thinking.

Here's a list of model numbers if anyone wanted to do some research.

    113

    130

I'm full of hints tonight (must be the home brew)
