I find trammels give me a lot of tear out

DJ!.. its not the trammels.. good guess though, I had forgotten that they were there.

I was in a rush, took all the spoke shaves detritus out of the cupboard and took the shot.

Is that a record block plane on the bottom shelf, back left corner ?

top shelf right hand side.
I forget the name but the blade extends right to the sides. Rebate plane I think.

It's not about brands.. there's a few makes floating around in there.

That's a rebate plane alright.. but it's not the odd one out, there's a little rebate top left and a rebate block down bottom somewhere.

There's only one wooden tote facing right (bottom shelf, back right corner) ?

Ok, my next guess is... the scraper plane (bottom centre back, because of the orientation of the blade.

The scraping plane on the bottom shelf has a plastic knob. All the other planes have timber knobs and totes
