Is the difference obvious in the picture or more obscure like manufacturer.

I'm guessing it's on the other side as the brass depth adjuster is in position on the top.

    TA,
Putting on my best Jeremy Clarkson"Top Gear" voice....
Some might say .... the difference is completely obvious in the picture, others might say the difference is just too subtle to see.
    TA,
However I do like the way you're thinking!

The top right is the only one that has a brass adjustment / lock on the right hand side of the plane body but I have no idea what it adjusts or locks.

    NCArcher,
that is a thumbscrew to lock the depth adjuster, all the others have a slotted screw to do the job, so it is a unique thing on the bridal plough. However I didn't show that in the first picture, and there were two others where it was unseen, so that wouldn't be very fair would it?
You found another unique feature, but not my "odd one out"

    Peter

Is the second fillister from the left the only plane that hasn't been cleaned ?

    TT,
I found three of the planes "in the wild" and have left them as found except for brush with a stiff bristle brush, and a wipe down with an oily rag. They have come to me from a tool chest, or from a workshop. Those are the front left - unhandled screw arm fillister, the front right - ebony stem, handled bridal fillister, and the top second from the right - the handled screw arm plough, all the rest are from other collectors or dealers so I can't be certain if they were cleaned.
    Regards,
    Peter

    YEP!
One of them was a gift from a client, and that's not all that's special about it....it isn't by Mathieson...now which one of them is the odd one out?
    Well done Ray,
    Regards,
    Peter

Ok, putting all the clues together, we have only three that were "found in the wild"
    they are ..

    1. The front left - unhandled screw arm fillister,
    2. The front right - ebony stem, handled bridal fillister,
    3. Top second from the right - the handled screw arm plough

Now, Peter said there was something special about it? dammed if I can see it.
I will take a guess and say..

Number 1, the unhandled screw arm fillister..

Now the next person has a 50/50 chance to clean up here!

    Regards
    Ray

I'll jump on Ray's band wagon and say No 3. Top second from right.
As far as I can see the fittings on the ebony stemmed units look identical which means they are by the same maker.
Someone else can jump in and pick door 2 so we have all bases covered.
