    Default A couple of articles

Two articles for the price of one ..

The first is on shaping a brace and building a tool box, as in my entry for the AWR competition ..

    http://www.inthewoodshop.com/ShopMad...eview2009.html

The second is on building a wooden hinge for a box. This link is to the FWW blog, but it will also go up on my website soon.

I have often wondered how to build a wooden hinge.
Thanks for the article Derek, it is much appreciated.
I might have missed it but can't recall the timber that you used for the hinges.
    Something hard I would guess.
What kind of epoxy did you mate it with?
Lovely work - thanks for sharing.

    Hi Tom

    Thanks.

I used Jarrah for the hinges - it needed to blend in as much as possible. The epoxy was a two-part from West Systems. It cured over 24 hours.

Nice articles Derek, though I must admit I raced to them thinking that one would be a study of the new Stanleys.
