    Ian

So much for the "last plane ever" chorus. However I'm glad you decided to sing us another one.

Many comeback tours Id say, Ian. It’s in the blood! I can’t wait to see the badger plane, it’ll certainly be a test but something so different. It’ll be a talking piece and really show off your skills! It’ll be just perfect I’m sure!

Ian, I'd love to buy a copy of your book.

A hint, if I might... I've edited many books and been given the "honoured" task of documenting many businesses internal manuals, etc... IF one reads the thing BACKWARDS it stops you from making your own mental jumps and ghost insertions. It forces you to see what is actually there, not what your brain thinks it wants to see.

You'll find many glaring errors this way.

Also, in that brass, I happened to find that supplier on AliExpress. I'll find the link.

Um, I'm not thinking of publishing this as a conventional book, WP., it will be an E-book & "free to air". Not sure if the Forum hosts large files, that would be the simplest solution, & anyone interested could just download it. Anyway, I'll put a notice in "Hand Tools" when it's ready, and email it to anyone who wants a copy.

Thanks for the editing offer, but if I was ever tempted to write a 'real' book, I would dump it on one of my daughters who was a professional editor at a small publishing firm that handled all sorts of books. She has very little woodworking & zero tool-making experience but the pros have a remarkable ability to cut through verbiage & she would have no hesitation at all in telling me if something made sense or not!

The old 'read backwards' trick has been around a while. I don't have the right brain, or something, 'cos I could never get past the first (last) paragraph before my attention wandered off to some other planet. Fortunately, Spell-check has done a pretty good job on spelling errors, but the boffins who write the algorithms for grammar checking for Microsoft Word have a long way to go! Maybe they were never taught grammar, since it went out of fashion in the 60s, but some of the sentences it queries and some of the suggested "corrections" are ludicrous ..

    Cheers,
    IW

Oh! I was going to put my hand up for another woodworking/coffee table book that I had not previously realised I needed!

No matter, I would still like to put my hand up when the E-copy is ready. I am becoming sooo techno minded despite myself.

Actually I will be looking forward to a good informative read. I will put it with my CDs on boat building....Plane Sailing??
