    Default Cute Little Scraper Plane

Here is a cute new product from Lee Valley - a small scraper plane.
This picture appeared on Wood Central and Lord Nibbo referred to it over at UK Workshop forums.

No doubt there will be more info on this as people review it and post their opinions.
    Looks cute doesn't it?
    Cheers SG

Hi Tom.. Interesting plane. looks like a very handy size and I suspect will be a dream to use.

I don't know if I'd call it cute.. I'm forever on the fence about the aesthetics of the Lee Valley planes

It's great to see a mob filling the gaps with planes that have been reserved for collectors. the skew rebate was a good move.

edit: following the link.. I like the draw pin, nice classic lines, lovely little lump of wood. Perhaps I'm just a sucker for the old stuff.

I too would like to give one of those a try. I got the " Little Victor" from Lee Valley and it's a great little tool. I'm with Tom- it's kinda cute (blush)

I had a little play with one in the pre-production testing stage.

All I will say at this time is that it is an excellent tool. It slips into the palm of one hand as easy as. This is a scraper plane designed as a finishing tool - to replace sandpaper when there is a need to remove those vestiges of tearout after smoothing, or to replace a finish smoother on small boards.

    Regards from Perth
