Dimensions please
I have just purchased an older Record 5 1/2 plane and still waiting for it to arrive. I am preparing a place for it in my tool cabinet and was hoping someone might be able to tell me what the overall height of it will be so that I can leave enough space between its shelf and the one above it. I need to know the height to the top of the blade from the base. I can find widths and lengths on the web easy enough, but not the height.
Thanks,
Dallas

It probably depends how much blade you have left. Mine is about 135mm high to the lateral adjuster.

Excellent. I only need a ball park figure so that will do me nicely. Thanks for the effort of posting the photo for clarity.

Hi Dallas,
I wish that I'd seen this thread earlier in the day. I could have measured it for you before I sent it off! I sent the plane by express post today, so hopefully there's not a lengthy wait until it arrives.
Zac.

Hi Zac,
I saw your logon name on another forum here and was trying to work out whether it might be the same person. Such a small world.
Got the message last night that it was on its way as I was considering contacting you before that, but all good now with Caboose's input. Look forward to receiving it.Dallas
