Discussion on jointer planes.
I don't know if anyone else is watching that discussion on another forum under 'Jointer plane question? Lie-Nielsen' but some of the posters seem to be getting their 'knickers in a knot'. If some of it wasn't so bloody sad then it would be amusing. What do you think Derek (Cohen) you have been through that particular meat grinder I seem to remember?

Hi Geoff
Yeah, I have been following it, but staying out (this time). Everyone is just going around in circles. It will end soon, no doubt.
I do love that forum for the often clever and witty posts. Of course, I have been on the receiving end of some very aggressive attacks myself (not for a quite a while, fortunately).
I did post on a similar thread, which you can find here:

It's typical of a thread which shifts from conversation to personal agenda attacks. Seems that often the attackers are comprised of just a couple of the same people. This time I am sadened by a couple of "new" people who have joined in.

Struth Derek that was a bit of a dummy spit on a couple of the posters part!!!
Since I posted this David Charlesworth has responded to a post that was a bit rough and said that he has better things to do in his life than get into a bunfight and won't for "quite a while" be posting on that forum. This is a bloody shame - hope that feeling doesn't overflow to other forums. I like the diversity of opinions I find on these posts and have found that my approach over the years has changed. By why the need for all the vitriol I detect in some of those posts. I am sure it puts people off posting and ergo limits the discussion with the attendant possibility of missing an interesting and relevant point of view. Good thing that us Aussies have such prose as "Pull yer head in mate!", " Don't spit the dummy sport." etcetera to cut to the quick of the matter.PS like your marking knives Derek - copied one myself. PPS Keep posting those tool reviews - great reading.PPS MikeW posts so does this make him a shill- can it be treated as it worked on me as I am saving up for those Seaton saws... mind control agghhhh.Last edited by Geoffexpat; 1st October 2007 at 06:35 AM.
