    Question Disston No.4 saw vise - value???

    Anyone know what this puppy is worth? There's one for sale locally.

    What I generally do is search completed auctions to get a feel for prices.

    fwiw, I wouldn't ever spend over $25-$30 US for a saw vise.

    Take care, Mike

    I think that I paid $25.00 for my Disston vise 13 years ago. They really are nice compared to anything homemade for holding a saw blade, and many of them have adjustable tilt away from the operator to easily change the filing angle without screwing up the muscle memory* of filing level.

    (*in my case this may be a theoretical advantage only, as I am always half a bubble off plumb in one direction or another, yet would swear on a stack of bibles that I'm filing/cutting/whatever straight and square.)

    Oh yeah...don't forget to use the internet spelling of vise in your searches;
