Disston saw identification?

Nowts as queer as folk... retro-nibbing might end up with a whole following (after all, there are back-bevellers, sharpening cults, and kerf afficianados)!
Indeed, the horn had broken orf at some stage, and been glued and pinned with a nail right through both. As the glue hadn't really taken, the horn had rocked a bit over the years, rounding off the two surfaces. Hence, a slightly tapered slip to bring it back to size.

Where are you looking for the etch? On the D-8 (second saw) it won't be in the center anymore, it will be where the center used to be. Look a few inches from the toe, on the tooth line, there may be something there. You might recheck the 76 as well, but it won't be as far off.
