yes the machine can do brass and ali but i will be limited to 300mm x 300mm.
thats no big deal for most of the littel things I'll want it to do.
Now I've got a whole new class of software to learn but I think it will help me with some of the little details I'd like to add to tools.
I will post an update in the next week or so.

Cool, do that Wonder if they could cut the dovetails for infill planes. I can't imagine that people who produce those planes would be using a file all the time

Here is the first one off the rank.
I was spot on with everthing until...I had to drill & tap the hole for the screw. I taped it by hand and was a poofteenth off square. Lesson learnt. It wont stop it from being functional but by golly it gets up my nose. So, here is my first dovetail marking guide.
I'll have to wait until I've moved house before I do any more and add the detail work I'd like to the rest.

Great! Looks good, I like the numbering too. Shame for you it's slihtly out of square, but the next one will be perfect I'm sure. There are few things more satisfying than making something yourself that you'll be able to use for ever.

Every time you pick it up to use it, you'll get a little ego boost; and I reckon that makes your work better

Nice skill to acquire kevjed.

I expect people will be sending orders to you in the not too distant future.

On the next one, you could leave a pin on the brass where the screw currently is and peen it into the countersunk hole in the blade.

I like that Idea.
With this one I cut the brass, drilled the hole and tapped by hand. The CNC mill I have access to is a little fella and the materal is stuck to the bed with industrial strength double sided tape.
I couldn't peen this one as the black top is acrylic and I'm known to be a little heavy handed from time to time.
I will have a go at that method of attachment when I do the brass batch. I'll CNC it all and not have to worry about drilling and tapping that hole. Great Idea.
