Default Dovetail vice and Disston Saw

Hi guys here is my newest project a much needed addition to my workshop a dovetail vice, I added two more screw type clamps it has excellent holding power great for carving and lots of other things.
The last is a Disston D8 28" 4 1/2 point rip saw, this saw dates back to 1896 she's straight, sharp and cuts very accurately and deceptiveely smooth which really shocked me, I expected it to be rough as guts. I am extremly impressed with this saw. $270 it set me back but I finally have a decent rip saw. I'm so impressed with it I'm trying to convince my wife in letting me get a decent crosscut even though there's nothing wrong with the sandvik I have since it's been sharpened not long ago it cuts rather nicely but comparing to the disston it doesn't even compare.

Nice new additions, I added a small table to the rear of my Dovetail vice, makes it rock solid and comes in handy when holding down tails to mark the pins etc...

This is where I got the idea from: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JJbIgZtf44U

Good to hear from you Derek I got it from eBay here is the link extremely trust worthy guy and one who actually knows his stuff. To me this saw is everything I could dream in a saw it cuts so fast and clean requring little effort on my part I've never experienced such a saw not even my 7tpi crosscut cuts so cleanly. He sent me a certificate with it detailed the pitch, rake etc I will have no hesitation from buying from him again.

Mike recommends Ballistol for protecting against rust.
I had some sent from the US (non-aerosol) only now to find they have at the Armadale hardware store (200m away) for gun-owners.

    Cheers,
