P.S. Ordering from Lee Valley is really easy. If you are worried about freight just ask for a quote, they will reply with the different options very promptly.
Otherwise place your order, complete with credit card details, you will get an email confirming your order, a second one, usually a couple of hours later with the freight options and charges, once you reply to this they process your credit card, finally the next day a third email advising your toys are on their way via your selected method.
Too easy.Boring signature time again!

I have just received a Scale Master digital plan measure from the states in took less than a week to get here.
Its my first purchase from Ebay. They retail in Oz for $329.00, in the US for about $70.00, I bought it brand new for $35.00 USD (+ postage)
How can they expect to sell them at that ridiculous price? do they think we are stupid?
It so frustrating seeing the prices trades pay for tools in the states, I think the prices here may explain the explosion in the cheap Chinese tools that are sold here (my theory anyway).
My local tool shop used to refurbish quality second hand tools as they came in for a trade up but that market collapsed as the cheapys took over. Now my old tools have no where to go and no more trade ins.
By the way I bought a Fein Multimaster used it the first day at work to get in a tight spot, its gonna be a good one to have in the kit.
Cheers
John

Its got a small wheel which you run along plans, it measures distances at a nominated scale and shows them on a digital read out.
I use when quoting plans its pretty handy but not at $300.00 + dollars
