    Paul,
we all know that you prefer your saws ready to restore but at least that painting is signed -- so that would "of course" increase the painted saw's value

Clearly the seller was confused by Ebay's help in determining what category the item should be listed in. Obviously it's a work of art and should have been listed in a collectable artwork category. There it's value would have been apparent to a much more appreciative audience than a bunch of plebian tool collectors like you lot.

Just as I said, Paul's preference is for saws that need a bit of TLC

Not on Ebay but Facebook Marketplace. He probably replaced it with one that wasn't in danger of falling in half.

I think it's cute, the way it's smiling with that orthodentist dream grin and eyes like a snake...

I hope nobody's silly enough to buy this - Good Quality,Heavy Duty ,Last Longer Cast Iron Machine ,Cast Iron Tabl | Power Tools | Gumtree Australia Logan Area - Browns Plains | 1280906000

No idea what speed that saw blade spins at but it's probably pretty safe to assume it's fast.

    But ...

you have to love the new paint job that saw's been given. It seems to be a brighter version of British Racing Green

Same clown has a Paulco Bandsaw and jointer combo for sale.
No guard on the jointer and what looks like a 3 phase reversing switch?
Same almost lifetime quality? Whatever that means

The lifetime of the machine, of course, Henry (which may be nasty, brutish & short)....

WRT that rather generous pulley on the saw motor - it's possible the motor was replaced and it's a 'half speed" (1500) motor so the blade needed a bit of revving up. But in any case, I'm wary of any old machine that looks like it's been got-at, and I certainly wouldn't buy a machine like a TS from someone who appears to know nothing about them without a very thorough inspection!

    Cheers,
    IW
