I think I've seen it before -- or a piece very very like it -- within the last 10 years.
It was lauded as being "art" and very "modern" -- it may have even been a spec piece for an exhibition or competition.
Which puts a whole different perspective on "vintage"
Vintage would now seem to describe anything that been still long enough to accumulate dust!
Gee it looks like this one https://www.1stdibs.com/furniture/ta.../id-f_2457253/

This happened to an old cow we had a few years ago. It's called mastitis I believe. Anyway the vet shot it.
Damn! Must've been your very best cow, too, Doggie, with that many teats! :D
Must admit, great minds think alike, though. My first thought was that it was a pathological condition of the bovine mammary gear, too. Reminds me of a very funny incident way back when I was in Canada. The lab assistant was a very nice young farm girl, who's brother had taken over the family farm. He was about to have a significant birthday, & had recently bought a prize heifer that he was very pleased about, so Pat wanted to make him a stool as a birthday present, and paint it in the same black & while pattern as the heifer. So she asked me to help, which I was happy to do. Partway through the job I/we got the idea that no dairy heifer would be valued without the necessary equipment, so we set out to make an udder for it. The weekend finished before we did, so she took the stool off to paint, while I completed the final touches on the udder. I took it into work a few days later, & Pat left it in the office during the day. The office ladies reckoned they had the best day at work of their entire lives. People kept walking in, seeing the nicely sanded (pine) object. They'd give the wood a few appreciative, strokes saying "that's nice, what is it?" Being a veterinary school, the penny usually dropped about then, and there was a very rapid hand-withdrawal and great embarrassment on the part of the stroker, accompanied by howls of laughter from the office ladies. They asked me if I'd make them another to keep there. :U

Anyone looking for a "vintage wheel spanner"?
Tools - Vintage Wheel Spanner for sale in Newcastle (ID:225533376)
Someone should tell them that that's not wheely a spanner...
I've it heard said that hand cut teeth are better because of the inherent slight irregularities but...
At least it still has a nib!
Words fail me (except that is a very handsome nib  )
