I'm almost at the point where I can post a WIP photo. I intend to replace pretty much everything but the base, but I've got it in a presentable, useable condition, so will try to chase up the original photo from ebay and take another to show the current state.

I'll probably regret this because now that I've got one I'd really like to find another couple, but once word gets out....

OK, here we go. The 1st picture is how it was advertised on ebay. The 2nd is how it looks now, after a bit of work. The plane in the back is a #3, so you see how small this thing really. And that shaving in front of the plane was taken from a piece of hardwood from that plane just before taking the picture.

My next improvement will be new handles, probably a solid one at the back, the current one is too small to be anything but a decoration.

switt. (funny, I have always read it as "swift"

Interesting little plane, That original photo rings a bell, I would have pictured it in my head about the size of a No4.
Now a can see it in relation to the 3 it's much cuter.

I think it would definitely benefit from some new wood.

Am I right in thinking that here is no blade adjustment? if not it should be easy enough to retrofit a thicker blade to close up that mouth a touch.

    Nice find.

Correct about the adjustment (or lack thereof). It would certainly benefit from a thicker blade, as there is no chipbreaker.

And for all the collectors out here, here is another little gem.

If this is "good condition", I'd hate to see one that was neglected...

Here are a couple of recent results that look positively mouth watering.
Obviously from the prices they were keenly sought:

I'm not sure what to say about these two. I think the plane is overpriced, but that's because I'm a heathen who has no appreciation for Miller Falls and their proud history.
At least it appears to be complete and in excellent condition. But if I had that much to spend on a single plane, I think I'd take a good long look at Lie Nielsen. Or lie down until the urge to buy went away.

And while I wouldn't pay $350 plus for those chisels (happy with my Titans, thank you), I can see how someone else would.

Actually it was a lot more than that:
    US$356.01
    or AU$529.30

I think it can just count its lucky stars that it wasn't painted white, maybe with a nice gold stencil along the skirt

I'm going to watch this one. It's not a bad bench for the price, so far. Nice pick up Slow6.
