Silly boy, it's obvious! That's a patent rat-catching saw. You simply enlarge any rat holes in the skirting board with the saw part. This makes the rats feel very exposed & uncomfortable, & when they come rushing out, you chop their heads off with the chopper thingy on top.

    Default Blocton humane emasculator

    Why O why indeed. [/QUOTE]

This is a very rare example of a Blocton humane emasculator which was a surgeons saw dating back to the Civil war. Many a wounded soldier was grateful for its use after suffering "lower extremity trauma" from shrapnel or close combat teeth damage. The saw itself was usually used in the "ball down" position (hanging free) but in severe cases was elevated to the "ball up" posture (up and high) so as to give the attending medico a better view. The instrument was phased out after Desert storm when it was found the mechanism was subject to sand clogging and the ball mechanism did not function freely causing needless suffering to the patient. The blocton has now been superseded by the Russian made "Bawloff Sonic disintegrator " which although more painful is not so subject to rust.

Doggie is partially correct in that this item is a medical instrument.

This is a castration saw. The ball is positioned accordingly so as to distract the patient from the procedure at hand. The ball pivots to allow for the sawing motion whilst ensuring the ball can remain in contact with the patient.

Different models had differering lentgh pivot arms for varied levels of distraction.

I looked. The Trying Plane was $160 (plus freight). Immediately registered with TradeMe and the Trying plane had gone . Oh well, I wasn't meant to have it .
