    Default fixing up old chisels

just to show I'm not just a hoarder of rusty relics here's a pic of some "fixed up" chisels.
the big one is a marpels with a redgum handle love how this one turned out, two titans & a German chisel with handles turned outta unknown pallet timer & last the nicest a stubby ward gouge with lovely unknown dark timber handle, this one's been the most work - the blade was snapped & the handle was stuffed so after a grind on the wetstone & a bit of lathe work I have a sweet little user just need to take out a bit more pitting off the blade , look forward to using it on my next carving project.
if anyone as an idea on the dark timber let me know as I'd like to make some more handles with it.

I have only rarely seen a gouge in the fluteroni shape.
Had the corners been square, it would be a macaroni.
If the center was raised, it would be a nightmare to sharpen, but called a backeroni just the same.
Had it been big enough for log works, that's a gutter adze shape.

looks to be just a standard gouge to me maybe a little shallower than some of my others.

Oh. In that lighting, I thought that the bottom was flat = had no sweep to it.
