Default Fixing pits in rusted blades

This is probably beyond the capabilities of most of our sheds but I was just musing on the idea and thought I'd throw it out there.

Do you think this would work as a fix for pitted blades?

    Just thinking aloud.

    Just speculating.....I'll vote "No".

When the filled pit becomes part of the blade edge, will that material hold an edge?

Also, as the process seems to be about wear prevention, would the material survive the sort of impacts that occur to a cutting edge? Or would it just break out of the pit?
We don't know how lucky we are......

The other ''NO'' is the temper of the blade will be affected by the heat. Then to retemper the heat will melt off the coating.
I have found that slight pitting on some blades can be lived with. Perhaps not on a finishing smoother but for things like knock about chisels or a scrub plane blade.
