    Default Folding rules

Does anyone know a source for folding wooden carpenters rules, as once used by every carpenter before the introduction of tape measures? I have an old fashioned builder relative wishing to purchase some.
If we learn by our mistakes, I have had a wonderful education!

You see them on ebay from time to time.

I don't think anybody makes them out of wood anymore. I could be wrong about that though.

Don't let him buy the plastic ones. I got one from Bumlies last week and first time I used it the joint broke. Can salvage and use for scale on router table etc, but not worth 10 cents nor the trip back to refund.

I bought a Stanley plastic one a couple of years ago.

It's still going strong although I'm more likely to use a steel rule than to reach for it.

    Cheers,
At $17.95 US, not a bad price. Shipping shouldn't be too much either.

Pity that they don't have a bigger picture though.

I bought one at a garage sale for $2 the other day. Same as Termite's.
