So its not actually FREE you have to take out as subscription just as I had read on another forum.
After you enjoy the free trial period, you will be enrolled in one of the following plans. Please select from the following membership options:
$4.99 Monthly Uninterrupted access, billed to your credit card each month. You may cancel any time.
$34.95 Yearly Uninterrupted access, billed to your credit card at the start of each 12-month cycle. We'll send you a reminder email before your membership is automatically renewed.
Special Subscriber Offer for Fine Woodworking magazine subscribers only
$14.95 Annually If you are an active Fine Woodworking subscriber, select this option and receive special pricing for your online membership.
Uninterrupted access, billed to your credit card at the start of each 12-month cycle. We'll send you a reminder email before your membership is automatically renewed. If your subscription to the magazine lapses, you will be billed at the non-subscriber annual cost for the remainder of your membership.

[QUOTE=wheelinround;1068108]So its not actually FREE you have to take out as subscription just as I had read on another forum.
This is true!

I am a subscriber to Fine Woodworking and last year I paid the $14-95. At the end of the 12 months, there was no e-mail about resubscribing or to tell me that the twelve months was up, they just took the money from my Visa Card and I was not impressed !
I don't think it is right that a person or Company can take money out of you Visa acccount without you agreeing to the transaction.
I am not saying the Tauntons are dishonest. just that the system is wrong.
I subscribe to another media which does the same thing, when the twelve months is up they just take the money from your account, no by your leave.
If you do not want to subscribe for another twelve months you have to do it well before the due date and your subscription finishes right then, not at the end of the twelve months.
I have had my rant for the day!

Well, that's not my experience with my subscription to the on-line version of Fine Woodworking.
I received an email from Taunton on 26/10/2009 that they would be billing my credit card on 16/11/2009 unless I advised them to the contrary.
