Getting my hands on Starrett products
I am looking to get my hands on some Starrett products. Specifically I'm interested in a C434ME-300 and C636-300.
I can't seem to find anywhere in Australia that stocks these products, and I am struggling to purchase them through the US store.
Does anyone know how/where I can buy these products?
Thanks!

You probably need an american buddy who uses a proxy shipper to ship around the world. which isn't me because the shipping cost for individual shipments from the US to AU is prohibitive.
Not that starrett goods haven't gone up a lot here, too, but their specs are clearly laid out and not evasive (like the per inch stat that trend puts on their chinese made diamond hones), and I've never had a starrett anything that was inaccurate unless it was actually worn.
I use a proxy shipper from japan and not a general service, but I've noticed many times selling things on ebay that international buyers are using a proxy shipper rather than ebay's global service. As in, they're buying a few things, having them consolidated by some place in New Jersey or Florida or Washington State (somewhere on a coast) and then sent to them much more cheaply. I've corresponded with only one of those folks who clued me in because I said I had some razor related listings for sale only to "americans". the use of a domestic address evades ebay and etsy's sniffers, and paypal and probably ebay and etsy are pretty clear that they only cover something shipped to its destination in the US.
Never had anyone using a proxy (findable by having an "address" that is a street address with a unit number at the end to make it look like it's to a room or a unit, but it's just an identifier for the proxy shipper to use to relabel the item for the actual destination).
Long story short, that's an option if you can manage to wait until you have a group of things from the US.

Try J Blackwood and Sons or any major industrial, engineering supplies business.

An alternative to Starrett is Mitutoyo - I have their equivalent set which I found on Gumtree a few years ago for $200 in excellent condition (both metric and imperial scales) - they seem to come up regularly.

The upper end mitutoyo stuff is generally regarded in toolrooms here as starrett equivalent.
It can be hard to find going all the way to the top (certified tools), but that stuff is uber expensive in starrett and territory of people who can write off purchases as a business expense.
Starrett's US made regular stuff is scary accurate in the first place, and top level mitutoyo stuff probably is about the same.
Both brands have come up with lower cost stuff here (unhardened head combination squares for $80-$100, etc that sell on amazon and other consumer sites).

You can always go to the local Starrett branch in Australia at au.starrett.com
I wanted a particular 150mm Starrett ruler so I went to the local Starrett branch in NZ with the Starrett id number and they ordered it in for me. I had to wait 3+ months for it as it came as part of a bulk monthly shipment but I did not have to pay freight charges.New Zealand

I bought a couple of starrett squares from Fine tools several years ago, they were well packed and shipped quickly. They don't seem to offer a metric and inch blade set like the OP linked to they do have a full set metric set with forged handle and satin chrome blade in stock.
BTW The Euro VAT is removed when you add to cart and put in shipping country.
