Hi Javali,
Good score. That lot will keep you busy cleaning and polishing. Is the saw a Diston or Spear and Jackson, nice old handle.
Enjoy the restorations.
Cheers

A worthy gloat.
Some good finds there. You even have the saw sets to go with the saw when it is cleaned.

Good score, where did it come from?
What do you reckon the plier looking tool is in the last photo, to the left of the claw hammer head and the spoke pointer/tenon maker? Maybe apop rivet gun? Also the curved job with the two knobs in the photo with the 3 planes out...looks like a herb knife!

That must be the one off ebay, You must let us all know just what was in there, irrespective of that, the price was good. I only wish that I had been local as it was a pick up.
Anyhow good luck with all your cleanups/restorations.

Thanks all.
I believe it is a D-8 Disston saw. The medallion dates it to 1896-1917. The blade is very rusty - I do not know if I can save it.
Yes - about one for each tooth.
I got it from epay. The seller says that it came from a carpenter that left it for his son. The son apparently also (ab)used it a bit before he sold it.
I think that the pliers looking tool is another saw set, but it is missing the striking plate. The herb knife is a surform file without a blade.

It is that one. I will try to list everything later, but I will know more as I restore them.
I think that the photos the seller put on eBay did a lot of injustice to this box. (Not that I complain, mind you), and I guess that the competition here in Adelaide is not too fierce. Anyway, the seller was also happy with the price, so I guess it is a win win situation.

Hi Javali,
Diston ! Yes, a good score. Distons are great, top reputation.
Will be well worth restoring, am sure there is life in the old saw still. The handle alone was worth getting, with the original brass fasteners.
Will keep an eye out for your restoration posts.
Cheers
