Are you serious, Ian ... or is this wishful thinking?

I am certainly available for taxi service for you.

I have in mind Saturday 26th June .... apologies Hazza. Say 10:00 a.m.

Garry, you are most welcome ... but NO WOODRAT - this is a handtool workshop (Ok .. we'll include the grinders for chisels and planes, the thicknesser for the wood ...)

So far we have Dave, Anthony, Larry, Perry (Pops), Chris (if he can make it), Clark (Wondai), Gerry and Garry (minus the 'Rat).

I think that we may have to draw the list to a close. Others may contact me if they do want to join in, in the event that a vacancy occurs. So will those who have shopwn interest please confirm they will make it.

What to bring: I'll supply the fire, salad and one of Lynndy's famous chocolate cakes. You bring whatever you want to put on the BBQ and a bottle.

Tools: a couple of chisels, dovetail saw, mallet if you use one, any marking gauges, etc. In other words, what you would use in your own workshop.

I do have several dovetail saws, plus a few chisels, etc, etc .. so if you are not happy with yours I am sure we can make a plan.

I think that there is bench room for 8 or 9.

    Open to your ideas.

    Regards from Perth

    G'day Derek

I'm in. I'll bring my dovetail saw, chisels, marking gauge, some wood, all in as new condition while I waited to find the time to learn how to use them properly. I'll also bring some fresh bread rolls as my contribution for the table if that's OK. Look forward to meeting everyone.

What are the chances that Pops will have a saw in one hand and at least one bottle in the other

    Cheers

    Larry

You beauty! Really looking forward to this. uh, that Dave was me wasn't it Derek? (Please)

(Now my over-exuberance has passed,... )

Derek, have you got a Bridge City CT-15 Multi Square by any chance? I'm looking at buying one and would like to try it first. Or for that matter any of the other 'high end' dovetail squares. Or for that matter (though perhaps I'm stretching the friendship a bit now) any of the other high end tools for cutting dovetails.
My poor quality tools, coupled with my poor handskills have so far resulted in much less than poor quality results, and I'm hoping to rectify at least one of these deficiencies in the near term. The other may take a life time.

    Cheers
    Dave W.

    Hi Dave

Yep, that was you mentioned before. Although you almost ended up excluded for showing interest in the 'rat.

No BC dovetail marker, but I do have the BC saddle square. Plus a bunch of other marking tools you may find interesting. Although, really, the only marking tool needed for dovetails is a cutting guage.

Attention all attending the dovetailing workshop on Saturday, 26th June.

The plan is to meet at my workshop at 10:00 a.m.

Bring meat (if you eat it) for a BBQ, and a beer if you want. Saws, chisels, etc are optional but recommended. I do have a few of mine that you can try out and/or use.

    Details (anti-scanning jpg):

    Kind regards

Unfortunately, I will have to leave about 1:15 as I have to umpire a game of hockey in Melville at 2pm. If you guys are still planning on being there later on I will call back for some convivial spirits.
