H&S paring chisels
I am just back to Canada from my trip to Australia and New Zealand. thoroughly enjoyed australia and brought back 3 beautiful H&S paring chisels which I had ordered via email way back in november. the chisels are 15 " in length with 9" blades; 20 degree primary bevel with 25 degree secondary.
Even though I had travelled for 30+ hours and crossed the international date line the first thing I did when I got home was to go to the workshop and try them out. How sweet they cut!! I had left the choice of handles up to Trent and he used she-oak burl with wonderful patterns. while these chisels cost me more than any others I had to choose from I am very happy that I had decided on H&S. Every time I use them I will think of Australia.
on a final note, it was a real pleasure to deal with Trent and Mandy (although only via email) and I am very appreciative that they accommodated my rather demanding logistics in respect to shipping to a hotel in sydney on a specified date(there was no margin for error).

Is anyone else still waiting for orders from the Melbourne WW show? The current ETA for my set of four is August, which will be a full 10 months from date of order.
I'm sure they will be all I'm expecting them to be, but 10 months is a long time to wait. We might have Helmut's chisels before I get my H&S set at this rate.
Does anyone else have any news?"Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so."

I bought a set of titans at the brisbane show and was told at the time about two or three weeks. Trent told me he had the chisels, just had to make the handles. I have rung him twice and left a message, most recently today. He has not replied as yet.

Don't worry, you'll all get your chisels. Trent is a very busy man and he never rushes his work lest the quality slips.
As for the missed phone call, his response when the phone rings is to swear at it then tell the person to leave a message. It's quite humourous (Make sure you call his mobile not his home number)
I'll give him a ring tomorrow and remind him of your orders

I'm still waiting too. I wouldn't worry as they will be here when they get here. I've had contact with Trent twice and feel comfortable that I'll get them when they are made to his satisfaction. I also added to my order and changed from a set of Titan style mortice chisels to the Ultimax style mortice chisels.
Its no different to many custom tool makers in a lot of ways as they end up avoiding giving ETS's just incase one of the processes along the way gets held up or worse still stuffed up.
I put my name on a waiting list for a custom made musical instrument 3 years ago. I've been told they are still a little way off starting it.....
It is a long time to wait for new tools but...the anticipation...
Looking forward to seeing the pics of yours when you get them Dave.
All the best
Kevin

^^^ What he said. I've chased him twice this year and the second time he seemed a little upset about the whole thing. I posted here because I didn't want to bug him again, lest he place my order on the bottom of next years pile :O

I was so impressed with the paring chisels Trent made for me earlier this year that in May I ordered 2 more in the same style plus a set of pig sticker mortice chisels. In the course of emailing back and forth to get the details on the invoice correct, his wife, Mandy told me that he was currently working on orders from December. No ETA given on my recent order but I know it will be worth the wait

Three sets
Hey Guys,
I am one of them dang ferners from the USA. As of right now I have a full set of the Ultimax Bevel Edge Cabinet chisels and a full set of the Limited Edition Titan Inspired Firmer/Mortise Set. I am waiting on my third set which will be the Heavy Duty Socket Firmer chisels. I am working on a year right now waiting for the third set but I have to say that my first two sets are so utterly amazing that they are well worth the wait. I also have the Lie-Nielsen and Ashley Iles Amercan Pattern and as great as they are especially the LN the H&S are just another step up.
I am not a collector, I am a user and I do not have a tool that I do not use. I build furniture here as a profession and have been gradually using more and more hand tools and glad to be doing so. All I can say is that you have a true treasure in Trent and his wife Mandy could not be more helpful.
