Beautiful tools aren't they. Chisels without a doubt are the tool I use the most.

So.... is it true? Worth the wait?
They look lovely and I'm sure you'll put them to good use.

Thanks for the photos. Oh so beautiful. Love those handles. What timber have you used, don't look like Cooktown Ironwood but I covert them. Yes, well worth the wait.

'Tis true Kev, they really are. I sort of feel quilty for getting impatient to be honest. I offered Mandy a testimonial when they get the new website up. To have waited for 18 months and still feel quilty about it...

DJ's on the money, Ringed Gidgee sourced from Terry Gordon. According to trent the lighter timber is in fact heart wood that hasn't changed colour yet. Apparently Gidgee has a very shallow sap wood layer because it grows so slowly. I also believe that the density of this timber increases at the base of the trunk and darkens even further.

I weighed the handles just to test my theory regarding balance, and found that Trent has also matched the heaviest handles to the largest chisels. They all came from the same length of timber also. A testiment to the effort that went into them.

having spent a couple of afternoons with him i understand how much time and effort he puts into every chisel.

they are definitely worth the wait!

You carefully select them, agonise over your choice, pay a small fortune, wait for ages, receive and carefully inspect them, admire their beauty then whack 'em with a big mallet We're a weird mob allright!

Hmmm.... 2 year waiting list... i think I better get in line... do I have the 2 years to come up with the $$$...

I'm not looking forward to that day! So far all I can bring myself to do with them is paring.

Boz, Trent asks for a deposit, then balance when they're ready. I do believe the waiting list is getting shorter, not longer. A lot of the waiting was due to a lack of productivity for various reasons, but the new workshop is up and running and things are getting back to normality I understand.

i ordered a set of 6 pig stickers in october 2009.

dont know when i will get them, and i dont mind waiting either.

its always worth the wait for trent's amazing tools.

as soon as i have them, you will be the first to know.

I've been told that Trent will have some amazing chisels on display at the HNT Gordon stand at the Melbourne Woodworking show.
Rumor has it that a member of this forum, who has been waiting for his chisels for just on 2 years, is going to get his chisels just before the end of the show.

This is the largest single set of chisels Trent has made.
Who in their right mind would get 20 bench chisels and 10 mortice chisels?

If you get the chance have a look....let me know just how over the top they are.
